CUSTOMER SCENARIO
A customer is using Multi-Function Peripherals (MFPs) to scan
and digitally archive documents on their network. As part of the
process, the documents are indexed so that they can be easily found
and retrieved whenever needed.

THE PROBLEM
The method of indexing these documents is manual. It relies on a
human operator to look at scanned images of the documents and key
in the data from the chosen index fields. With a large volume of
documents this manual process can be time consuming, costly and
prone to human error.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
Formic Fusion software uses powerful optical character
recognition (OCR) engines to read the value of the index fields.
For example, an organisation digitally storing their invoices might
want to retrieve them using supplier name, invoice number, date or
total value (£). The software is set to capture any or all of these
fields and it presents the data that it has captured back to the
user on the eCopy ShareScan screen for verification.
